How do you ask those people at makeup counters to help you?

or do u actuallly have to like....choose an item and ask them how it works or whatnot?

walk up to one and ask for assitance for example say what you want like at sephora be like i'm looking for mascara


but at a counter like at clinique or antoher one in a department store ask for a makeup evaluation. they'll do your makeup with colors and products good for you based on your coloring and other questions they ask you (skin type, time to get ready, going out look vs. everyday look etc...)How do you ask those people at makeup counters to help you?
How do you get them to leave you alone? Maybe they think I just need a lot of help. lol. Anyways,...just ask them for a demonstration of their brand. They usually are fully ready to give you the once over! Just don't get talked into 200 dollars worth of make-up.
First you have to visit the magical wizard of asking questions and be granted the power of asking people stuff. then you go ask the person. But you've obviously done that already because you just asked a question right now. So GO ASK FOR HELP!
