How do you get a job at a makeup counter in a department store?

Do you need special training or what?How do you get a job at a makeup counter in a department store?
Some require that you are in cosmetology school while others will hire you even if you have no training. Mac is known for their training, My friend works for them and does my makeup better than any makeup artist I have ever had work for me. Ask for applications though! You have to go to that particular counter and ask...each one does have different standards...I know that clinique does require some training

if u know nothing about beauty/makeup then u will have to go to some sort of cosmetics school but if u already know about beauty/makeup then the best time to apply is at christmas time cause they need lots and lots of people so if they like u they say ur in but sometimes it depends where ur getting a job
